Uttarakhand: Health department on alert mode in Uttarakhand, instructions to strengthen surveillance system
Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that if even a single case is found in the state, it will be considered as an outbreak. Health Department has issued SOP for prevention and vigilance from monkeypox.

Uttarakhand Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat has instructed the Health Department to be on alert mode regarding the increasing dangers of monkeypox in the country. He has instructed the departmental officers to be vigilant regarding monkeypox. The Minister said that instructions have been given to the District Magistrates and Chief Medical Officers to strengthen the surveillance and surveillance system for control and prevention of monkeypox at the district level.
He said that if even a single case is found in the state, it will be considered as an outbreak. The Health Minister said that as a precautionary measure, on the basis of the guidelines issued by the Central Government, the Health Department has issued SOPs for prevention and vigilance from monkeypox.
He said that strict vigil would be kept for control and prevention of monkeypox at the district level. For which the departmental officers have been asked to strengthen the surveillance system. Nodal officers have been nominated in each medical unit and medical college of the state along with separate isolation arrangements for monkeypox. Along with this, instructions have also been given to the departmental officers to make available adequate medicines for examination and treatment of patients in the hospitals.
