Enforcement Directorate officials reached the house of Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut at around 7 am today. Sanjay Raut is being questioned by Enforcement Directorate officials in the Patra Chal land scam case. There are also CRPF officers with the team of the investigating agency. This team has reached Sanjay Raut’s house in Bhandup, an eastern suburb of Mumbai this morning.

Sanjay Raut had recorded his statement on July 1. Then he was interrogated for 10 hours. He was later summoned on July 20 and again on July 27. Then Raut had said that he would not appear before the ED for the time being due to the ongoing Parliament session. He had said that he would be able to appear only after August 7.

According to the Enforcement Directorate, an agreement was signed between the Society, MHADA and Guru Ashish Construction Company for the rehabilitation of 672 families of Patra Chal. The directors of the Guru Ashish company were Rakesh Wadhawan, Sarang Wadhawan and Praveen Raut of HDIL. The company is accused of misleading MHADA, first selling the FSI there to 9 other builders and deposited 901 crores, then starting a new project named Meadows and collecting Rs 138 crores in the name of flat booking. But 672 original tenants were not given their houses. In this way the company made 1039.79 crores.

Enforcement Directorate alleges that HDIL later gave Rs 100 crore to Praveen Raut, director of Guru Ashish Company, out of which Praveen Raut gave Rs 55 lakh to Sanjay Raut’s wife Varsha Raut, which the Enforcement Directorate has considered as part of money laundering. .
