Kashmir Police told about the incident that a civilian was killed, while his brother was injured in the firing by terrorists in an apple orchard in Shopian. Police said that both those who were attacked are Hindus.
Kashmir Police tweeted from its official Twitter handle, “Terrorists opened fire on civilians in an apple orchard in Chotipora area of Shopian. One person was killed and another injured in the firing. Both belong to the minority community.” The injured person has been admitted to the hospital.
