Satish Kaushik is an Indian film director, actor, and screenwriter known for his work in Hindi cinema. He was born on April 13, 1956, in Dhanounda, a small town in the state of Haryana, India.
Kaushik started his career as an assistant director to Shekhar Kapoor in the 1983 Hindi film “Masoom”. He made his acting debut in 1988 with the film “Railway Platform” and went on to act in several successful films like “Mr. India”, “Ram Lakhan”, “Karz”, “Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!”, and “Saajan Chale Sasural”.
Apart from acting, Kaushik has also directed and written screenplays for several films. He made his directorial debut with the film “Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja” in 1993, which was produced by Bollywood superstar Boney Kapoor. However, the film failed to do well at the box office. He later directed several successful films like “Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain”, “Tere Naam”, and “Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai”.
Kaushik is also known for his work as a character actor and has won several awards for his performances. He won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the film “Brick Lane” in 2007. He has also acted in international films like “Brick Lane” and “The Great Indian Butterfly”.
In addition to his work in films, Kaushik has also acted in several television shows and theater productions. He has written and directed several plays and has won critical acclaim for his work in theater.
